I Have Plenty of Time

A girl we’ll call Mary was 19. She was invited to hear an evangelist who preached on how to be saved.
“I don’t have time for that now,” she said. “Besides, there’ll be plenty of time for that.”

During the next night of those meetings, Mary’s car skidded out of control and slammed into another auto. She died instantly.

“I don’t have time for that now.” Fearful words! No time to think about God, or death, or judgment, or eternity, or her soul!

“There’ll be plenty of time for that.” Little did she realize when she spoke those words that she was only hours  from eternity.

Time is a precious gift from God, but it comes with no guarantees. The Bible compares our life span to a blade of grass, a vapor, and a shadow. Listen to the wise prayer of Moses. “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom” (Psalm 90:12).

God’s Warning
“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
